About Margarete
​
She has studied with numerous artists, especially well-known artists and mentor Gwen Fox, Deb Komitor, and Robert Burridge and describes her style of paintings as abstract expressionism. While most of her paintings are in the abstract, she has also a passion for flowers.
Margarete was born in Germany and experienced her childhood in a quaint small village. Her paintings are inspired by her life experiences and travels through many parts of the world. She fell in love with Colorado and, since moving here in 1999, her art reflects the colors, shapes, texture and beauty of the southwestern landscape around us.
She lives in Monument, Colorado, on the eastern range of the Rocky Mountains within view of the majestic Pikes Peak Mountains.

Margarete Seagraves entered the world of art over 20 years ago with a passionate desire to create art and to capture the beauty of our world in color, shapes, and texture in mixed mediums, acrylic or oil paints. When she is not in her studio in Monument, Colorado, she enjoys touring galleries and enjoying other artist’s work of art.
